2013-2014 - Student of the Year - Competition Team

2013-2014--Student of the Year:
Kelsey Foster

Kelsey, 17 and a senior at Clover High School, has been dancing for 15 years. When she’s not dancing, she enjoys hanging out with her friends at the lake, shopping and hiking Crowders Mountain.

Kelsey is a member of the Interact club, teacher cadets, fellowship of Christian athletes, and an honor student taking dual credit classes at USC Lancaster and Winthrop University. She was on the homecoming court and was most recently crowned Miss Clover High School. Kelsey is an active member of Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.

Kelsey plans to attend the University of South Carolina and major in physical therapy with an emphasis on children with special needs. She has a desire to reach all children, whether it's at dance, being an assistant in pre-school through teen classes, after school tutoring at a local elementary school, or in her pre-k class with teacher cadets.

Kelsey plans to continue her love of dance in college by trying out for the dance team. Kelsey says, “I dance because it’s my passion. Dance gives me the chance to express what I’m feeling whether it's happiness, sadness, anger or excitement it’s all there in the movement.” Her favorite quote is “practice like you’re in a competition, and compete like you’ve already won.”
